The Newport Beach Film Festival hosted an amazing post-screening after-party @Equinox Sports Club in Irvine and guests got down to DJ-spun club tracks and a rockin' 80s band. Filmmakers, celebs and OC film fest enthusiasts feasted on delicious Daphne's fare. On May 11th, we'll be fueling more film fest enthusiasts for opening night of the San Diego Surf Film Festival.

Transworld SKATEboarding Magazine Celebrates 30 Years of Influence

This past week we took a visit to the revamped TransWorld Park to celebrate the launch of Transworld SKATEboarding Magazine's 30th volume. The walls were covered with prints, magazine covers, and collectable boards from their 30 most influential skaters of all time while the coveted new issue was released to a crowd of around 250 pro's, legends and industry guests. And because no event would be complete without a little nosh, Daphne's provided California Greek fuel for the entire evening ensuring not one guest left on an empty stomach. Have a look at all of the photos H E R E and catch more of this exhibition as it travels around the world in 2012.

We were in the mood for music and took Daphne's backstage to fuel artists Kate Voegele and the fellas of Parachute before hitting the stage! While they did the sound check, we did the serving for concerts at the Orange County Yost Theatre and the El Rey in Hollywood. We're huge fans of them and as it turns out, they're huge fans of us too!

When you think of fast casual dining, rarely do you equate the neighborhood plaza with a night on the town for dinner, live entertainment and libations. Well, our San Clemente store had all that and more last night for the second installment of our Daphne's Concert Series. 
Twitter followers, Facebook fans, family and friends gathered for an intimate evening of mingling and munching to a live performance from folk favorite, Donavon Frankenreiter.

A big thanks to Primo Beer and Peligroso Tequila for quenching the thirst of all our guests!

TransparentSea

We met up with green-thinking, global surfing philanthropist, Dave Rastovich and his crew from the TransparentSea Voyage in Orange County and again in San Diego to celebrate their journey down the California coastline as they follow the migration of the California Gray Whale. 

TransparentSea is an awareness campaign that highlights coastal environmental issues, with an emphasis on whales and dolphins and the waters they inhibit. Throughout this voyage from Santa Barbara to Baja Mexico, TransparentSea followed the incredible mammal, while stopping in key coastal communities for beach cleanups, concerts, movie screenings and art auctions to share their experience and support Surfer’s for Cetaceans (S4C) and other ocean minded charities.
